The Crema Shell has a tall, rounded back in molded veneer that curves around the seat, so the chair reads as one smooth wooden form from behind. From the front, a padded seat cushion (green in the photo) adds comfort and a single accent color.
A tall back is useful in a coffee shop: it gives a sense of privacy at a two-top in an open room and creates a strong, consistent rhythm when a row of chairs faces a wall bench. The shell is formed veneer, joined to solid hardwood legs and a cross brace beneath the seat for rigidity.
Where it works: design-led specialty coffee shops, cafes where the chair back is the first thing guests see from the street, rows opposite a wall bench.
