Every cafe has a corner where people settle in with a laptop or a second cup. The Piccolo is made for that corner. Its solid oak frame is an open, angled structure: front legs rake forward, flat arms reach out to rest a saucer on, and the cushions sit inside the frame rather than wrapping it, so the chair looks light even at lounge proportions.
The seat and back are separate thick cushions in a light grey leather-look upholstery with a soft matte surface. In a coffee shop we recommend a bleach-cleanable vinyl or polyurethane leather; it shrugs off milk splashes and takes a quick wipe between guests. High-resilience foam keeps the seat from bottoming out after months of use.
Construction: solid oak frame, mortise-and-tenon and dowel joints with glue and screws; elastic webbing under the seat cushion; wood finished in a clear or stained commercial lacquer.
Where it works: lounge corners, waiting areas in bakery-cafes, hotel lobby coffee bars.
Options: oak stain, cushion color and material (COM/COL accepted), a matching two-seat version, foam specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
